I’m Kristy Dickinson, and I’m running for City Councillor in Ward 5 because I care deeply about this community.

I was born and raised in Burlington. I grew up in Ward 5. Attended elementary school in Ward 5. And 20 years ago, I chose to live in Ward 5 to raise my 3 children in this community.

I have deep connections with this community through my children’s involvement in the Catholic school system, and my work within our local healthcare system. What I know is true: residents deserve to feel heard, informed, and connected to the decisions that shape our city.

Throughout my career, I’ve succeeded by bringing together different people with different perspectives and points of view to figure out practical solutions to the challenges we all face. It starts with deep listening and understanding of the issues. I’ve seen firsthand that the best outcomes happen when the right voices are at the table and decisions are made with a clear understanding of their impact on the community.

Local government should work the same way—open, collaborative, and grounded in the needs of the people it serves.

This campaign is about strengthening our community and moving forward together.
